Ramadan 10K Challenge

Be the Nusra (Material Support) for £250K Worth of Grassroots Volunteership

Assalāmu Alaykum to you, the Muslim Business Community,

Firstly, I extend my utmost respect and admiration to you as a successful and hardworking Muslim who has struggled in ways many have never seen. Allah (SWT) is fully aware of your sacrifices and efforts. Your success has come through seeking the means that Allah (SWT) has commanded, and through His Might and Generosity, He has placed you in a position where you do not face the worries of basic survival, unlike so many others in this world. This is a great blessing and a testament to your dedication, professionalism, and skill. Success is not accidental, it is earned through years of effort.

Allah (SWT) says:“Believers, shall I direct you to a commerce that will deliver you from a grievous chastisement?”Have faith in Allah and His Messenger and strive in the Way of Allah with your possessions and your lives. That is better for you if you only knew.”(Qur’an 61:10-11)

From this ayah, we understand that being a Muslim is our primary identity. Whatever profession we hold, whether as a doctor, scientist, solicitor, academic, or entrepreneur, it must always be in service to our Deen.

As a grassroots Islamic Centre and Institute, we provide a crucial space for the Muslim community to fulfill their obligation of serving others and carrying the message of Islam as a complete way of life. We remind you to have Taqwa (consciousness of Allah), humility, and a sense of urgency when asked to support Da’wah and Khidmah (service to the community). Even the working class, the poor, the disabled, and children are giving their last pennies to sustain this effort.

Whether you are a business owner, professional, property manager, or landlord, before any title or position, you are our dear Muslim brother or sister, beloved to Allah (SWT). We need each other to maintain a thriving, united, and prosperous community. We are asking for your material support, a small portion of the wealth that Allah (SWT) has entrusted to you, in exchange for immeasurable rewards in the Akhirah. Indeed, Allah (SWT) owns not only the 2.5% Zakah, but also the 97.5% that remains with us. Zakah is the bare minimum obligation. Just as a scholar’s duty to teach is not limited to his family, our financial responsibilities extend beyond personal and family needs to include the greater community.

If you cannot take the £10K challenge, we ask you to at least make du’a that Allah (SWT) inspires others to do so.May Allah (SWT) bless you, your wealth, and your efforts in both this life and the next.
